Xbox’s June console update has been released

Microsoft has detailed Xbox’s June console update, which is rolling out now.

According to the platform holder, the new system update gives players greater freedom to customise their home backgrounds.

Prior to the update’s release, players had to choose whether they wanted a dynamic background or rotating game art when hovering over a title. Now, both options are available at the same time.

There’s also a new setting that lets players change the colour of their dynamic background without altering their default profile colour.

Updated Wi-Fi settings means Xbox consoles can now remember up to 10 previously used networks that can be switched between without re-entering passwords.

The update enables users to manage subscriptions directly from the console too.

Xbox wireless controller firmware updates have also been released.

“If you use the Xbox Adaptive Controller, you’ll have expanded support for more connected USB accessories,” Microsoft said. “This update will better support full functionality of some accessibility peripherals. Each port now supports up to 12 buttons, a second stick, and a hat switch.

“You’ll also see improvements to wireless disconnects for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 when a headset is attached to its 3.5mm audio port. Plus, you’ll get some other bug fixes to make your gaming smoother.”

Among other features included in the monthly update, there are new navigation options inside the Xbox app on PC, and mouse and keyboard support for Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available for all players.
