Xbox is adding the ability to pre-download updates

Xbox consoles will soon be getting the ability to pre-download game updates.

The feature, which is already present on PS5, lets players download large updates for games ahead of time, so that when the update is set to go live it can simply be installed and played.

The feature is currently rolling out to members of the Xbox Insider Alpha ring, and should expand to all Xbox users in the future.

The first game set to make use of the feature is the Insider version of Sea of Thieves.
