Warzone’s new Covert Exfil feature has been delayed following fan backlash

This week’s Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 1 Reloaded update will no longer include a controversial new feature called Covert Exfil.

The new win condition, which would have let Warzone players call in a helicopter for the chance to exit battle royale matches early, received a significant amount of negative feedback following its announcement last week.

Following the response, Raven Software announced plans to delay the feature’s introduction, as well as an accompanying Weapon Case objective, and said it will instead release them as part of a dedicated mode.

“Over the last few days, we’ve seen your feedback about the Covert Exfil feature and have decided not to launch it in standard Battle Royale with Season 1 Reloaded next week,” the studio said.

“We believe that Covert Exfil and the gameplay loop it provides, paired with the Weapons Case, will make for an exciting addition to Warzone. That said, we’ll instead launch both of these features in an upcoming dedicated mode.

“We’re looking forward to the new challenges that these features will provide and to your continued feedback once the mode is available.”

Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 1 Reloaded will launch on January 17 at 9am PT 12pm ET / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST on all platforms.
