Uniqlo announces a new clothing range based on Final Fantasy 14, 16 and Pixel Remaster

Japanese clothing store Uniqlo has announced a new range of officially licensed t-shirts based on some of the more currently popular Final Fantasy titles.

The range, which is part of the store’s long-running UT Collection – which consists of exclusive t-shirt designs with various brands and artists – will consist of seven shirts.

Three of these shirts are based on Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster, a collection of remasters which were released on PC and mobile in 2021 before coming to PS4 and Switch last year.

Two of the shirts are based on Final Fantasy 14, while the other two have a Final Fantasy 16 theme.

“Debuting in 1987, the Final Fantasy series has earned worldwide acclaim for its cutting-edge visuals, distinctive world-building and captivating storytelling,” Uniqlo’s description for the collection reads.

“This exclusive collection seamlessly melds the art of Yoshitaka Amano – renowned for helping bring to life the series’ unique worldview – alongside the iconic pixel art from the first six titles.

“Also featured are designs from the series’ online role-playing game Final Fantasy XIV as well as its latest mainline installment, Final Fantasy XVI.”

The range is set to launch in “late June” in Japan, on June 17 in the UK and on June 24 in the US.

Uniqlo has also announced that its Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom line revealed earlier this month is coming to the US on April 25, and the UK on April 29.

Uniqlo has released many video game-related lines in recent years, with gaming brands like Pokemon, Capcom and Metal Gear Solid each receiving their own lines of graphic t-shirts and hoodies.

Uniqlo’s last Final Fantasy line was released in 2022 and celebrated the series’ 35th anniversary with 16 different shirts, each representing an entry in the main series.
