Ubisoft’s Valiant Hearts sequel is coming to consoles
The previously released Netflix sequel to Ubisoft’s Valiant Hearts is set to be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
As spotted by VGC, the Brazil ratings board has recently classified a console port of Valiant Hearts: Coming Home.
The side-scrolling adventure/puzzle game was previously only available on mobile devices and required a Netflix subscription. However, it seems like this will be no longer the case, according to the rating body.
As part of a three-game exclusivity deal between Netflix and Ubisoft, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home was released in February 2023, nearly ten years after the previous title, Valiant Hearts: The Great War, which received overwhelmingly positive reviews throughout the years on Steam.
The Great War was generally praised for its themes, visuals, and music, and for enabling players to learn more about World War 1 history.
Coming Home takes place after the events of The Great War, featuring a narrative following “four interweaving stories of friendship, survival, and sacrifice amidst the turmoil and tragedy of war”.
“James joins the Harlem Hellfighters to search for his heroic older brother Freddie, while Anna tends to the wounded and broken,” reads the game’s synopsis.
“Ernst, a German diver, and George, a British aviator, each face their own challenges, and Walt, the canine companion from the first game, is back to aid players in their progress through exploration, puzzle-solving, and action sequences.”
Ubisoft Montpellier, the developer of the title and its predecessor, recently released critically acclaimed title Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, in addition to working on the long-in-development Beyond Good and Evil 2.
