There’s No Escape In The Final Trailer For Smile 2

This week, it’s time to grin again with the release of Smile 2. But there won’t be many smiles made by Naomi Scott in this movie. She’s playing the latest victim of the curse, Skye Riley, a pop star who is rapidly reaching Taylor Swift-levels of fame. But as shown in the final trailer for Smile 2, Skye’s life is going out of control as the curse closes in on her.

In the first Smile and its sequel, an entity appears as people with incredibly creepy smiles and taunts its victims with their impending demise. Intriguingly, the entity actually speaks to Skye twice in this trailer. The first time is through Skye’s friend–or possibly her lover–Gemma, who tells Skye that she deserves what’s happening to her because she’s “a horrible person.”

A man named Morris (Peter Jacobson) may be the only other individual who knows what Skye is going through. Morris tells Skye that the entity is using everything bad in her head to strike at her. What he can’t tell her is how to get rid of the entity and break the curse. And if Skye is around someone else when she dies, then the curse will simply pass on to its next victim.

Parker Finn, the director and writer of the first Smile movie, returned to helm and write the second film as well. Kyle Gallner is reprising his role as Joel from the first film alongside franchise newcomers Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Raúl Castillo, Dylan Gelula, Ray Nicholson, and Drew Barrymore.
