The Gears Of War Card Game Is 20% Off At Amazon
The Gears of War series hasn’t seen much movement in recent years, with Gears 5 dropping in 2019 followed by Gears Tactics in 2020. Gears of War: E-Day was announced at the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this summer, though it doesn’t yet have a release date. That means fans could be waiting a while for the next installment of the beloved franchise to hit store shelves. If you’re looking for something to help make the wait easier, you should check out Gears of War: The Card Game, which is on sale at Amazon for just $27 (was $35), along with a handful of Gears of War novels–many of which are down to their best prices all year.
Gears of War: The Card Game
$27 ($35)
Created by Steamforged Games, Gears of War: The Card Game is a two-player deck-building game where players take the role of the Humans or the Horde Your goal is to take down your opponent by building a powerful deck from a pool of over 260 cards based on characters and weapons from the series, including iconic faces like Marcus Fenix and High General RAAM. Matches last around an hour, and with so many cards at your disposal, it’s easy to replay again and again.
For something less competitive, you can check out one of the many Gears of War books up for grabs. The mainline Gears of War novel series is particularly enticing, telling stories set in the same universe as the games. They also don’t necessarily have to be read in order, meaning you can jump in at any point. If you’re looking for content related to Gears 5, consider Gears of War: Bloodlines, which follows the game’s protagonist Kait Diaz after the collapse of Settlement 2. There’s also the original Gears of War trilogy novels Aspho Fields, Jacinto’s Remnant, and Anvil Gate, which tie directly into the original Gears of War’s storyline.
These novels can be paired with over 20 Gears of War comics. Physical copies are now wildly expensive, but you can snatch up a Kindle bundle of all 22 digital comics for just $45. If you’re not sold on the comics, you’ll find a sample on Amazon that lets you check out the first few pages for free. But if you’re a fan of the series, rest assured its hyperviolence and memorable characters have been faithfully translated into these digital tales.
