The first gameplay footage of Ghostface in Mortal Kombat 1 has been revealed

The first footage of Mortal Kombat 1‘s latest DLC character, Ghostface, has been shared online.

Mortal Kombat chief creative officer Ed Boon shared the footage on X, showing the character fighting against Johnny Cage.

Ghostface is the killer from the Scream series of movies, but their identity is different in every film.

Because every Ghostface killer uses the same voice-changing tool, the Ghostface in Mortal Kombat 1 could theoretically be anyone.

Ghostface will be added to the game on November 19 for Early Access players, with a full release on November 26.

Ghostface is the 10th DLC character in Mortal Kombat 1, and the fourth to be added as part of Kombat Pack 2.

The first Kombat Pack added Omni-Man from Image Comics, Quan Chi, Peacemaker from The Suicide Squad, Ermac, Homelander from The Boys and Takeda Takahashi as playable fighters.

So far Kombat Pack 2 has added Mortal Kombat veterans Cyrax, Sektor and Noob Saibot, with Ghostface being the pack’s first guest character.

Following Ghostface will be the T-1000 from Terminator 2, and Conan the Barbarian. Neither character’s release date has been confirmed.

VGC’s Mortal Kombat 1 review called the game “an excellent retkon that will appeal to modern and lapsed fans”.

“Mortal Kombat 1 is the best Mortal Kombat game to date,” we wrote. “It looks stunning, has a brilliant Story mode, its new Invasions mode will keep solo players busy and, above all else, it’s an absolute joy to play. Thoroughly essential for die-hards, lapsed fans and newkomers.”
