The Best Dragon Age Book Deals Available Ahead Of Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Dragon Age: The Veilguard arrives for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 31, but if you’re interested in diving deeper into the lore of Dragon Age ahead of the new game’s arrival, you’ll want to step away from your TV and get your nose into a book. Luckily, there’s a variety of comics, encyclopedias, and novels set in the Dragon Age universe that can teach you more about iconic characters, locations, and storylines from the fantasy RPG series. Even better, many of the books are discounted right now ahead of The Veilguard’s release, including some preorders for all-new titles. We’ve rounded up all the Dragon Age books available below.

Dragon Age has seen numerous comic adaptations and spinoffs over the years. If you want a preview of what The Veilguard’s storyline will bring, you’ll want to check out Dragon Age: The Missing. The 88-page graphic novel serves as a prequel to The Veilguard that bridges the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition and The Veilguard. It follows Varric Tethras and Lace Harding, who have appeared in previous games and will return for The Veilguard.
For more adventures that fill out the overarching Dragon Age storyline, there’s Dragon Age: The First Five Graphic Novels. This 400-page omnibus collects the Dragon Age: The Silent Grove, Those Who Speak, Until We Sleep, Magekiller, and Knight Errant comic runs into one large paperback volume.

The Art of Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a 256-page artbook full of concept art, promotional illustrations, and information on Veilguard’s new characters, locations, creatures, and more. The book launches on November 5 and will be available in standard and deluxe editions. The standard edition will cost $50, while the deluxe edition is on sale for $90 (was $100) and comes with some extra flourishes, including:
- A foil-stamped slipcase and unique cover art
- Gilded pages
- A ribbon book marker
- Two lithographic art prints with display portfolio

For an even deeper dive into the minutiae of Dragon Age lore, The World of Thedas Box Set is hard to beat. The nearly 500-page collection spans two hardcover books and discusses the game’s history all the way through Inquisition. You can buy both volumes individually, but this $36 bundle is around half the price of purchasing them separately.
