Super Mario Party Jamboree Preorders Come With Switch Online Membership
We’re just two months away from the release of Super Mario Party Jamboree, the latest entry in Nintendo’s long-running party game series. Super Mario Party Jamboree preorders have been live since shortly after its reveal during June’s Nintendo Direct. No preorder bonuses were attached to the Switch exclusive at that time, but it turns out the physical edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree will come with a Nintendo Switch Online three-month membership at launch on October 17. That means that all Jamboree can compete in the Koopathlon online game mode, which requires a membership.
According to Nintendo, Jamboree is the biggest Mario Party game yet and will feature over 110 minigames. It’s the third Mario Party game for Nintendo Switch, following 2021’s Mario Party Superstars and the 2018’s Super Mario Party. If you don’t already own those games, you can hone your skills ahead of Jamboree’s release by picking up Superstars for $49 at Amazon and Super Mario Party either on its own for $45 or bundled with red and blue Joy-Con controllers for $89 at Amazon and Walmart. Considering Mario Party can be played with single Joy-Con controllers, this bundle is a convenient way to add two more players to the party.
Super Mario Party Jamboree Preorder Bonuses
It’s unclear how long the three-month Switch Online membership ($8 value) will be bundled with the physical edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree. It’s possible this offer is only for the first printing and could sell out before launch. Jamboree isn’t the only upcoming Switch game to receive a surprise bonus. Over at Best Buy, you can get an adorable acrylic stand with your preorder of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
$60
Super Mario Party Jamboree preorders are available for $60 at Best Buy, Target, and GameStop. If you already preordered a copy before Nintendo added the bonus three-month Switch Online subscription, don’t worry: The listings were simply updated with the new offer, so you’ll get the freebie with your preorder.
If you’re wondering why we didn’t mention Amazon or Walmart there, it’s because neither retailer is carrying Nintendo Switch game preorders at this time. You can find Switch games at both retailers after launch, but the games are sold by third-party sellers–though some are still shipped by Amazon or Walmart. For instance, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is available at Amazon and Walmart for $53 from a third-party seller while still being shipped from each retailer’s warehouse.
Super Mario Party Jamboree looks to be a nice step forward for the iconic series, offering more mini-games, five new maps, and a handful of returning maps from previous entries. Along with the traditional Mario Party experience of racing around a board and battling against friends, you can now jump online to challenge 19 other players in the new Koopathlon mode. The online mode requires a Switch Online membership, so the surprise preorder bonus will prove very useful for those who want to give the Koopathlon a try.
Several other upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusives are available to preorder at major retailers. Zelda fans can also preorder the Hyrule Edition Nintendo Switch Lite, which launches the same day as Echoes of Wisdom and comes with a one-year Switch Online membership. If you’re in the market for Switch hardware, you should also know that Walmart has an Animal Crossing-themed Switch Lite bundle for $159.The turquoise console comes with a digital copy of New Horizons, which makes this Walmart-exclusive Switch Lite an incredible deal.
