Spider-Man 2 PlayStation Plus trial launches, next big update still being worked on

A Spider-Man 2 game trial is now available for PlayStation Plus Premium members.

Progress made and trophies earned during the two-hour, time-limited trial will carry over if players decide to purchase the full game.

Spider-Man 2 was released for PS5 last October to widespread critical acclaim, making it one of Insomniac’s highest rated games.

Sony claimed that Spider-Man 2 was the fastest selling PlayStation Studios game in history, selling 2.5 million copies in its first 24 hours.

It went on to sell over five million copies during its first 11 days of availability, according to the platform holder.

Insomniac said on Monday that it’s still working on Spider-Man 2’s New Game Plus update, which was originally scheduled for release last year before being delayed to “early 2024”.

The update will also introduce audio descriptions, plus the ability to change the time of day, swap tendril colours, and replay missions.

“Our team is still working on it,” the studio said. “We’ll be delighted to share more news soon as we can.”
