Sonic X Shadow Generations release date, cover art and screenshots seemingly leaked


The release date for Sonic X Shadow Genrations has seemingly leaked, along with box art and new screenshots.

The game was announced back in January, along with an autumn 2024 release window, but no further information has been given since then.

Now Dealabs user and reliable inside Billbil-kun says the game will be released on October 25, and will cost $49.99 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch.

X user Midori, who usually specialises in leaking Atlus content, backed up Billbil-kun, release date information, adding that Sega “has already prepared social network posts and web updates for Sega and Sonic websites in all regions” ahead of an upcoming announcement.

This implies that the game is set to be shown at one of the upcoming Summer Game Fest presentations, most likely either the main showcase tonight or the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday.

Another X user, @MysteryLupin, processed to reveal what they claim to be the box art, pre-order bonuses and screenshots for the game.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is an updated version of the 2011 platformer Sonic Generations.

Sonic Generations sees Sonic and friends teaming up with their past selves, with the game playing out across two styles of gameplay: ‘classic’, which is mostly side-scrolling, and ‘modern’, which features 3D levels.

The new version will feature a “complete remaster” of Sonic Genrrations, according to Sega, with “upgraded visuals and new bonus content”.

It will also include a “brand new story campaign” starring Shadow the Hedgehog, “featuring never-before-seen powers and abilities that prove why he’s known as the Ultimate Life Form”.
