Rocksteady Never Worked On A Superman Game, According To Report
Thanks to a Bloomberg report, Rocksteady never pitched or worked on a Superman game despite it being a popular rumor. After the studio finished working on Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015, it started working on Batman: Arkham VR.
Following that, the studio reportedly began to work on an unannounced multiplayer game that had nothing to do with the Arkham universe. Then, in 2016, Warner Bros. studio in Montreal canceled a Suicide Squad game after the project was handed over to Rocksteady.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is set in the same universe as the Arkham franchises. In the upcoming game, you’ll play as one of four DC villains in the Suicide Squad, and as the name suggests, you’ll be tasked with killing the Justice League. Unlike the Arkham series, Suicide Squad will take place in Metropolis, which is also the home to Superman. In addition to that, it’ll also feature the late Kevin Conroy as Batman.
Be sure to read our Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League preview, where Phil Hornshaw wrote: “The idea of trying to take down the Justice League, knowing the kind of power they wield as you head into battle against them, is a great premise. But open-world missions where characters bark at you over the radio about how enemies are attacking point A or point B over and over don’t seem to be breaking the mold, especially when plenty of live open-world games now exist with a lot of the same kinds of content.”
