PlayStation raises Horizon Zero Dawn’s PS4 price following remaster upgrade annoucement

Sony has increased the price of Horizon Zero Dawn, following the announcement that it could be upgraded to the upcoming remaster.

Until recently, the PS4 version of Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition was listed at $19.99/ £15.99, according to PSPrices. This has been the case for over two years.

Now, the game’s price has been increased to $39.99/ £34.99.

The reason for the price increase is almost certainly to ensure that players don’t get Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for cheaper than full price by buying the PS4 version on sale and upgrading it.

The remaster, which VGC reported on in 2022, will come to both PC and PlayStation 5 on October 31st.

The game will be available for $49.99 on PS5, Steam and the Epic Game Store, while owners of the original game can upgrade to the remaster for $9.99.

As such, the decision to change the PS4 version’s price back to $39.99 means anyone choosing to buy that and upgrade will pay a total of $49.98, instead of $29.98.
