Palworld’s Xbox servers are limited to 2-4 players, while Steam gets up to 32 players

Palworld developer Pocketpair has addressed why the Xbox version of the game only supports 2-4 players in co-op multiplayer.

While the Steam version has dedicated servers for up to 32 players, the feature is not currently available on Xbox or PC through Game Pass or the Microsoft Store.

On the Palworld discord, a Pocketpair representative wrote: “We’d like to have dedicated servers on Xbox but it’s unfortunately not up to us and is quite difficult to negotiate at this time. But… we are trying!”

“Palworld is a monster-catching, survival and crafting game, but incorporates a variety of mechanics from other genres in order to provide a completely new experience for everyone,” according to its Steam description.

“In this game, you can peacefully live alongside mysterious creatures known as Pals or risk your life to drive off a ruthless poaching syndicate.

“Pals can be used to fight, or they can be made to work on farms or factories. You can even sell them or eat them!”

Released today in early access, the game features characters very reminiscent of Pokemon and it has been a breakout hit, according to Pocketpair.
