Netflix’s Arcane Season 2 Panel Heading To LightBox Expo

LightBox Expo, the three-day entertainment and art industry event that brings together creatives to ignite a shared passion for art, today unveiled its stellar programming lineup that will feature a presentation of the art for Season 2 of Arcane, the hit Netflix series based on League of Legends.

“Step into the world of Arcane: League of Legends with this compelling panel on the artistry and craftsmanship behind the groundbreaking Emmy Award-winning animated series,” the official panel description reads. The presentation will be moderated by production designer and concept artist for Riot Games, Arnaud-Loris Baudry with other panelists as they break down the art and design behind Arcane’s technical and artistic challenges of adapting the complex video game lore.

Last year’s event brought in 15,000 attendees, and from October 25-27 the Pasadena Convention Center will host the show once again. Artists and representatives from Disney, Netflix, Illumination, Pixar, Laika, Sony Pictures Animation, Dreamworks, Skydance Animation, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, and Marvel Animation will head 200 hours of programs, demos, panels, workshops, and more.

“LightBox Expo is where I go to be inspired,” said Chris Sanders, animation icon and writer and director of Dreamworks’ upcoming film The Wild Robot. “It is one of the greatest gatherings of comic, film, game, and graphic artists anywhere!”

Season 2 of Arcane will also be the final season of the League of Legends show, but the showrunners are open to spin-offs and more within the world of Runeterra.

“Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche,” writer Christian Linke said back in June. “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”

Season 2 of Arcane hits Netflix this November.
