Netflix Is Adding More Series From A Rival Streamer, Including Walking Dead Spin-Offs

The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul have been on Netflix for years, but the vast majority of AMC’s original series have been held back for the network’s streaming service, AMC+. Starting next month, that’s changing in a big way thanks to new deal that will bring many of AMC+’s shows to Netflix, including every Walking Dead spin-off.

On August 19, the first spin-off series, Fear the Walking Dead, and the most current show, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, will arrive on Netflix for the first time alongside Interview with the Vampire Season 1, Mayfair Witches Season 1, The Terror Season 1, That Dirty Black Bag Season 1, Gangs of London Seasons 1-2, Dark Winds Seasons 1-2, Kevin can F*** Himself Seasons 1-2, Into the Badlands Seasons 1-3, and Preacher Seasons 1-4.

It’s not a coincidence that Daryl Dixon Season 1 is arriving on Netflix just over a month-and-a-half before the Season 2 premiere on September 29 on AMC. In the past, AMC has given credit to Netflix for expanding the audience for Breaking Bad and Mad Men through streaming. Perhaps Netflix help Daryl Dixon reach greater heights as well.

The other two Walking Dead spin-offs, The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Season 1, are being held back for a January 13, 2025 premiere on Netflix. All of AMC’s shows will be presented ad-free on Netflix, even for subscribers who use Netflix’s ad-supported tier. However, Netflix fans shouldn’t get too used to having these AMC shows around. The deal is only set to run 12 months.
