Konami Teases That Metal Gear Solid 4 May Finally Come To Modern Platforms

Metal Gear Solid 4 remains solely available on PlayStation 3, but that situation might finally be changing. Fans have long called for the game to be ported to other platforms, and those voices only became louder with the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection being dubbed “Volume 1.” Although Volume 2 has not yet been announced, Konami has teased that MGS4 could be a part of such a release.

While speaking to IGN in an interview, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura was asked if Metal Gear Solid 4 would ever come to modern consoles. This prompted Okamura to say that the studio is aware of the situation surrounding Metal Gear Solid 4.

“Unfortunately, we can’t really say too much at the moment with Vol. 1 containing MGS 1-3 dot dot dot… you can probably connect the dots! Right now, we still are internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series. So sorry, we can’t really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!”

This wasn’t the only time Metal Gear Solid 4 was teased. Earlier last year, David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake, posted a photo of themselves next to Old Snake.

To add more fuel to this speculative fire, shortly after the first Master Collection was released, a Reddit user released a string of code that was from the collection’s launcher. The code contained placeholders for various Metal Gear games, including Metal Gear Solid 4.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was originally launched in 2008. Since then, nearly all of the mainline games have seen various ports, such as Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and even Peace Walker, which originally launched on the PSP.
