Helldivers 2 gets a new update which includes ‘prep for increased server load’

Helldivers 2 has received a patch which should help the game better deal with its server capacity issues.

The version 1.000.10 patch – the notes for which can be read on the Helldivers Reddit page – has rolled out for all platforms and includes fixes for numerous issues, some of which are related to connection.

Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt informed players about the patch as it was rolling out, saying it includes “resolved matchmaking and prep for increased server load”.

Earlier this week, Pilestedt told a user on X that the game’s frequently full servers couldn’t be fixed by simply buying new servers.

“It’s not a matter of money or buying more servers,” he explained. “It’s a matter of labour. We need to optimise the backend code. We are hitting some real limits.”

One of the improvements listed in the patch notes is “improvements to our client > backend communication for better backend performance”.
