For the special features, the film comes with behind-the-scenes featurettes, a field guide to The Super Mario Bros. universe, leadership lessons from Peach’s voice actor Anya Taylor-Joy, and a Peaches music video. Apologies in advance if your kids keep this on an eternal loop. A big hit when it first came out, The Super Mario Bros. Movie earned rave reviews at the box office and was a huge commercial success as well.

“With a surprisingly great performance from Chris Pratt as Mario, The Super Mario Bros. Movie sees Nintendo’s favorite plumber and his brother (voiced by Charlie Day) whisked away to the Mushroom Kingdom, where they join forces with Princess Peach to stop the mighty Bowser. “More than just another cartoon comedy, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a surprisingly great action flick,” Phil Owen wrote in GameSpot’s The Super Mario Bros. film review. “Both pretty funny and also just plain pretty–this movie is a feast for the eyes.”

If you’re looking for a few more family-friendly animated movies on 4K Blu-ray, Amazon has a bunch of them for $13 or less. One of our recommendations here would be Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, as the film pits the fan-favorite character from the Shrek movies against Death itself. Racing to claim a wishing star that can grant him nine more lives, Puss has to come to terms with his selfish acts and how he took his previous eight lives for granted.

Like several other animated films released this decade, Puss in Boots ditched the typical CG-animated look and adopted a style that made it look like a vivid storybook tale come to life. The Last Wish was well-received when it first hit theaters, and for the bonus materials, there are deleted scenes, music videos, feature commentary with the film’s director, featurettes, and an extra short film.

For the little superheroes, Lego Batman’s 4K release is only $11. Batman fans looking for another bargain should also check out Batman’s 80th Anniversary Collection, which includes 18 DC Universe Batman animated movies for $35. These are standard 1080p Blu-ray discs, but it’s quite the bargain.
