Fallout 76 attracted over 1 million players in a single day, Bethesda says
Fallout 76 has hit a major player milestone, according to publisher Bethesda.
“Thank you to the over one million of you who adventured with us in Fallout 76 in a single day,” the publisher said on Tuesday.
“… and almost five million across all Fallout games in a single day,” it added in a follow-up post on X.
“It’s amazing to see the large influx of new Appalachian Adventurers, and how our awesome community has welcomed them!” wrote Jonathan Rush, creative director for Bethesda Games Studios on Fallout 76. “A very exciting moment with many (many) more to come!”

Numerous games in the Fallout series have seen their player counts dramatically rise following the release of Amazon’s Fallout TV show on April 10.
It has been well received by critics and viewers alike, with a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 93% and an audience score of 88%.
During the week ended April 18, viewers logged almost 2.5 billion minutes watched across the show’s eight episodes, working out to about 5.2 million views, according to entertainment data provider Luminate (via Variety).
Amazon confirmed last week that the Fallout show will return for a second season.
As well as an increase in Fallout game sales off the back of the show, player numbers will have been boosted by giveaways too.
Prime Gaming, which is included with an Amazon Prime subscription, offers members PC titles to keep plus exclusive in-game content every month.
Fallout 76 is currently available to claim on both PC and Xbox consoles for Prime members.
Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas are also free for Amazon Prime members for the next six months via its cloud gaming platform Luna.
The entre Fallout franchise is currently available to play via Xbox Game Pass too.
