Crash Team Rumble will be getting no more content updates after next week

Crash Team Rumble support is winding down, as next week’s content update will be its last.

When players launch the game, they’re presented with a message confirming that the last content will arrive next week.

The online team-based competitive platformer will remain online for now, and a new Battle Pass containing all the content from the previous three seasons will be added.

“March 4, 2024 will be the final content update for Crash Team Rumble,” the statement reads.

“The core game will still be live and players will have access to a free 500-tier battle pass that includes 104 new items. This will include all of the Battlepass content from Seasons 1 through 3, plus all the available event rewards.

“Additionally, Crash Coin purchases will be turned off, and players can use their existing Crash Coins to purchase tier skips for the Battlepass.”

Crash Team Rumble was released in June 2023, but was met with mixed reviews at launch and seemingly failed to take off in a major way.

The news of the game’s final content update coincides with developer Toys For Bob‘s announcement that it’s set to leave Activision and become an independent studio for the first time in 19 years.

The California studio was acquired by Activision in 2005, and has worked on a variety of Skylanders, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Call of Duty games since then.
