Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition price cut by $50

Ubisoft has cut the price of the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition following changes to its contents.

Ubisoft recently delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows from this November to February 2025.

At the same time, it announced it was departing from its traditional season pass model, cancelling early access and granting players who pre-ordered the game its first expansion for free.

Ubisoft provided an update on the game’s Collector’s Edition in a Q&A published on Discord this week.

Given that buyers will no longer receive three days of early access and it won’t include a Season Pass as originally advertised, the Collector’s Edition price is being reduced from $279.99 to $229.99.

“The content will mostly remain as initially advertised, though some design elements may change,” Ubisoft said.

The Collector’s Edition will include the following physical items:

  • Naoe and Yasuke dual character statue (approx. 40 cm / 15.7 inches).
  • Unique SteelBook case.
  • Collector’s art book (76 pages).
  • Naoe’s katana tsuba (life-sized).
  • World map.
  • Creed wall scroll (70×30 cm / 27.6×11.8 inches).
  • Two sumi-e lithographs (13.5×19 cm / 5.3×7.5 inches).

It will still include the base game and the following additional digital content:

  • Sekiryu Dual Pack
  • Sekiryu Hideout Pack
  • Five mastery points

Following the game’s delay, Ubisoft attempted to play down concerns that Sony’s recently-revealed Ghost of Yōtei, an outwardly similar historical action-adventure game also set in Japan, could eat into Assassin’s Creed Shadows sales now both titles are being released in 2025.

“I would like to say that there’s a lot of space for very high quality games, and those two games can sell very well,” said CEO Yves Guillemot.
