Amazon renews video game anthology series Secret Level for Season 2


Amazon Prime Video has renewed the video game anthology series Secret Level for Season 2.

Season 1 of the adult animated series features 15 original stories set within the worlds of various video game series.

Eight episodes premiered on December 10, and the remaining seven will be released today.

Amazon said Secret Level enjoyed the most-watched animated series debut of all time for Prime Video within its first week, although viewership numbers weren’t provided, according to Variety.

Data and insights company Luminate said the show was viewed for 155.3 million minutes in the US during its launch week, which works out at about 1.4 million views based on its runtime.

The first series includes episodes inspired by the likes of Dungeons & Dragons, Sifu, New World, Unreal Tournament, Warhammer 40,000, Pac-Man, Crossfire, Armored Core, The Outer Worlds, Mega Man, Exodus, Spelunky, Honor of Kings, and PlayStation games including the ill-fated Concord.

The Season 1 cast includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, Keanu Reeves, Temuera Morrison, Ariana Greenblatt, Heaven Hart, Emily Swallow, Gabriel Luna, Ricky Whittle, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Merle Dandridge, Claudia Doumit, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Clive Standen, Laura Bailey and Michael Beach.

Secret Level was created by Tim Miller, who previously directed Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate and Love, Death & Robots.
