A pre-release build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has leaked

A pre-release build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has reportedly leaked online.

According to Reddit users, the developer build was uploaded to a torrent site in late June.

It appears to be fully playable from start to finish and can even be done so with friends.

Videos of the opening missions are being uploaded to a YouTube channel and contain heavy story spoilers.

The sequel to 2011 hack-and-slash game Space Marine is being developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment, which VGC has approached for comment about the leak.

Revealed during The Game Awards in 2021 and originally planned for release in 2023 prior to a delay, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is scheduled to hit PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on September 9, 2024.

In late June, Saber and Focus said a Space Marine 2 open beta had been cancelled.

They claimed that running the beta as originally planned would have been a distraction for the game’s developers as they gear up for its release.

“Space Marine 2 is almost ready,” they wrote. “We are now entirely focused on optimization, polish and fixing remaining issues ahead of launch on September 9.

“This means we will not run a public online beta, as it would take the development teams away from preparing for the full launch, and our priority is to ensure the best possible experience at release.”
