A Modern Warfare 3 free trial will follow this week’s Season 2 update

Activision has announced Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3’s second free multiplayer trial.

Running from February 8-12, it will launch the day after the release of the game’s big Season 2 update on Wednesday.

Players will get to sample a portion of the game’s multiplayer offering, while receiving full access to Modern Warfare Zombies.

Participants will be able to play new Season 2 map Stash House and eight other multiplayer maps.

Supported modes will include Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Domination and Team Gun Game.

Season 2 launches on February 7 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT on all platforms.

It will introduce three brand-new 6v6 maps on day one, plus a remastered one (Das Haus) mid-season.

Stash House is compact map set in a recently raided Bay Area stash house, Departures is a medium–large sized map set in the Zakhaev International Airport, and Vista is a medium-sized map set in a Brazilian mountaintop resort with gift shops, restaurants, and trams.

Season 2 will also include a new War map, another Zombies story mission, the return of Resurgence map Fortune’s Keep in Warzone, and a Walking Dead crossover.
