Sega celebrating ‘Fearless: Year of Shadow’ with a series of events

Sega has announced Fearless: Year of Shadow, a promotional campaign celebrating Shadow the Hedgehog.

A series of activations are planned around Shadow, who will also feature prominently in the Sonic The Hedgehog 3 movie.

The planned events include a Shadow-inspired motorcycle, set to appear at MotoGP Fan Zone this weekend in Austin, TX, and again in the UK this August.

Sonic Forces and Sonic Dash will also feature in-game tie-in events wherein players can unlock Shadow variants including Super Shadow, Vampire Shadow, Sir Lancelot, and Dragon Hunter Lancelot.

The Sonic Symphony World Tour will also update its set list to include original Shadow-based scores, which will be shown “alongside some of his coolest moments on screen.”

Sonic 3 director Jeff Fowler recently announced that the movie has concluded filming.

A recently released logo for the film is seemingly an homage to Sonic Adventure 2. 

Sonic X Shadow Generations, an updated version of the 2011 platformer, will be released later this year.

The new version of the game, which as its name suggests features new content starring Shadow, is set to release in Autumn for consoles and PC.

Sonic Generations sees Sonic and friends team up with their alternative selves, with the game playing out across two styles of gameplay: ‘classic’, which is mostly side-scrolling, and ‘modern’, which features 3D levels.

“Play as Shadow the Hedgehog in a brand-new story campaign featuring never-before-seen powers and abilities that prove why he’s known as the Ultimate Life Form,” Sega said.
