Sonic and Angry Birds are crossing over in five mobile games for the next week

Sonic and Angry Birds will be crossing into each other’s mobile games for the next week.

As announced on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel, the following five mobile games get crossover events starting today:

  • Angry Birds 2
  • Angry Birds Dream Blast
  • Angry Birds Friends
  • Sonic Dash
  • Sonic Forces: Speed Battle

Each of the events will only be available for a week, and will end on March 21.

“Collect exclusive Red and Chuck character cards as you dash through levels to add these two Angry Birds characters to your roster,” reads the Sonic Dash event description. “During the crossover event, you’ll also be able to collect daily-themed collectible items on the track.”

“Explore the Tower of Fortune to find eight new Sonic Friends hats,” reads the event description for Angry Birds 2. “These fully upgradable hats not only increase your flock power, but also grant you entry to the Sonic-themed ‘You’re too slow adventure’. Speed through challenges for exceptional rewards.”

“Take down the Bad Piggies with the help of Sonic in a special tournament,” says the Angry Birds Friends event. “With Dr. Eggman reinforcing the piggy towers, these themed levels are sure to put your skills to the test.”

Angry Birds Dream Blast says: “Channel your speediest hedgehog to complete levels in a race against fellow players. The faster you burst those bubbles, the better rewards you’ll receive.”

Players of the Sonic Forces mobile game will also be able to race against Red and try to unlock Chuck.

Sega’s co-COO Shuji Utsumi suggested in November that a Sonic and Angry Birds crossover was coming, joking that the two IPs were currently “dating”.

Sega acquired Angry Birds studio Rovio in August at a total cost of €706 million.
