Today’s Forza Motorsport update overhauls its ‘divisive’ car progression system

Forza Motorsport’s car progression system is being overhauled today as part of the game’s sixth major update.

In January, Turn 10 Studios acknowledged complaints from Forza Motorsport players about three areas of the game, including its “divisive” car progression mechanic.

Following the release of Update 6 at 10am PT / 5pm GMT today, all car parts for every car will be unlocked at Car Level 1, meaning Xbox Series X/S and PC players can install upgrades in any order.

Secondly, Car Points will be obtainable with in-game Credits, at a ratio of 4,500 Credits for 500 Car Points.

The on-track time required to reach Car Level 50 will remain between 2-3 hours and brand discount levels won’t be changing as part of the update.
