HBO’s The Last of Us has cast its Manny, Nora, Mel and Owen

HBO’s The Last of Us has added four new cast members for season two.

According to Variety, Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) will play Manny, “a loyal soldier whose sunny outlook belies the pain of old wounds and a fear that he will fail his friends when they need him most.”

Tati Gabrielle (You, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) will play Nora, “a military medic struggling to come to terms with the sins of her past.”

Ariela Barer (How to Blow Up a Pipeline, Runaways) will play Mel, “a young doctor whose commitment to saving lives is challenged by the realities of war and tribalism.”

And Spencer Lord (Riverdale, Family Law) will play Owen, “a gentle soul trapped in a warrior’s body, condemned to fight an enemy he refuses to hate.”

It was announced in January that Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart) had been cast as Abby and Young Mazino (Beef) as Jessie, for the show’s next season.

Series co-creator Craig Mazin said last year that the show’s second season won’t cover the entirety of The Last of Us Part 2 video game, and that the series could run for three to five seasons, “but four seems like a good number.”

After being delayed by the Writers Guild of America strike, the second season of The Last of Us started production in February ahead of a 2025 release.
