Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 trailer shows off new multiplayer maps


Activision has released a Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 2 trailer showcasing a trio of new multiplayer maps.

Season 2 will introduce three brand-new 6v6 maps at launch this week, plus a remastered one (Das Haus) mid-season.

Departures is a medium–large sized map set in the Zakhaev International Airport, Stash House is compact map set in a recently raided Bay Area stash house, and Vista is a medium-sized map set in a Brazilian mountaintop resort with gift shops, restaurants, and trams.

Season 2 launches on February 7 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT on all platforms.

“Expect a truly immense content offering, including new Multiplayer maps, four new weapons, Aftermarket Parts (including your own underbarrel chainsaw!), Ranked Play for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone, new Zombies Dark Aether Rift investigations, events, challenges, secrets, and a skeletal theme to BlackCell, led by the mysterious John Doe Operator,” Activision says.

As previously reported, Season 2 will feature a The Walking Dead crossover. Players who purchase the new Battle Pass will unlock Rick Grimes from AMC’s zombie show, as well as Station Chief Kate Laswell, while Michonne from The Walking Dead will also be playable via a new operator bundle.

Campaign and multiplayer gameplay footage of a previously unseen Call of Duty title leaked last month. The futuristic sci-fi series entry, which was codenamed NX1, was once in development at Activision’s Neversoft studio, which was best known for its work on the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Guitar Hero series prior to its closure in 2014.

Former Call of Duty general manager Johanna Faries was named as Blizzard’s new president last week.
