Xbox Design Lab launches new controllers with ‘unique dynamic patterns’

Following an earlier leak, Microsoft has announced the Vapor series of Xbox Design Lab custom controllers.

According to Microsoft, each controller features a dynamic pattern that is unique to every controller, meaning that every controller produced will be slightly different.

These controllers are available on Xbox Design Lab starting today, alongside the already available selection of custom buttons and analog sticks.

Alongside this, the non-customizable Dream Vapor Special Edition controller is available today in select markets priced at €69.99 / $69.99 / £64.99.

A collection of hoodies inspired by the new controllers has also been released. The Icon Collection Vapor Hoodie is available in 3 colours, each of which features a different swirl pattern.

An updated version of the Arctic Camo Special Edition Xbox One controller, which launched for Series X/S last year in the US, will also reportedly be released in Europe next month.

It’s estimated to launch between February 13 and 20, priced at €69.99 / $69.99 / £64.99.

Microsoft has reported a major jump in sales for its Xbox division during its second fiscal quarter.

The company completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard in October 2023, in the process taking ownership of franchises including Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo and Overwatch.

That was reflected by a significant rise in sales during the quarter ended December 31, with gaming revenue up 49% to $7.1 billion, including 44 points of net impact from the Activision deal.
