Epic Games Store and GOG have announced their latest free PC games


The Epic Games Store and GOG have announced new PC game giveaways.

Epic is giving away The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria free of charge, while GOG is giving away The Whispered World: Special Edition.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is free to claim until December 19 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm GMT.

Confirming an earlier leak, Epic has said it’s the first of 16 titles it plans to give away over the Christmas period.

After The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, a mystery free game is expected to be given away each day for 15 consecutive days.

Epic’s latest free game launched alongside its Holiday Sale, which is running until January 9.

GOG’s free game is available to claim until December 15 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm GTM.

To claim The Whispered World: Special Edition, players are required to opt in to receive GOG marketing emails.

Running until January 3, GOG’s Winter Sale includes over 6,500 offers and discounts of up to 90%, according to the company. It gave away five free titles during last year’s Winter Sale.

GOG recently launched a Preservation Program designed to ensure that classic games remain playable on modern systems forever.
