Save Big On 2TB Western Digital SSDs For PS5 And PC At Amazon
If you’re looking to upgrade your PS5’s storage capacity during the holiday shopping season, there are already some great deals on PlayStation 5-compatible NVMe SSDs from the most popular brands, including Western Digital. The WD Black SN850X 1TB is discounted to $90 during Amazon’s Black Friday sale. You can step up to the 2TB model for $134. Both of these come with preinstalled heatsinks, so they are ready to slot into your PS5 out of the box. If you want a lot of extra storage space for your PS5 or PC, the 4TB model without a heatsink is on sale for $250.
You’ll also find deals on 2TB and 4TB versions of the SN850X below. If you also own an Xbox Series X|S or are in need of a holiday gift for an Xbox fan, the WD Black C50 1TB Expansion Card is on sale for $100 (was $150) at Amazon, which is its lowest price yet. Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck owners can upgrade their storage space at steeply reduced prices thanks to an assortment of SanDisk microSD card Black Friday deals, including the SanDisk 1.5TB Ultra for $89.
1TB – $90 | 2TB – $134 | 4TB – $250
The WD Black SN850X can hit speeds of up to 7,300MB/s, significantly faster than the required 5,500MB/s sequential read speed for full support on PS5. The 1TB model that’s on sale includes a preinstalled heatsink, which is needed for installation in the PS5’s open M.2 slot.
At face value, a 1TB SSD sounds like doubling your PlayStation’s storage space, but it’s actually an even more meaningful increase. The original PS5 has roughly 667GB of usable storage, while the PS5 Slim has about 850GB.
If you want an even bigger upgrade, Amazon has the 2TB SN850X on sale for $134. The 2TB version without a heatsink is available for $124.75.
Anything above 2TB is probably overdoing it for most PS5 users, but the SN850X is also one of the best SSDs for PC, a platform where storage gets consumed by more than just games. Amazon has the 4TB SN850X for $250.
The only downside with the 4TB deal is that it doesn’t. come with a heatsink, so you will need to buy one separately and install it yourself. Thankfully, it only takes a few minutes, and heatsinks are cheap, including this $9 model.
