Hitman World of Assassination for PlayStation VR2 delayed
Hitman World of Assassination’s PlayStation VR2 release date has been delayed by several months.
Previously scheduled to arrive in December, the game will now be released on March 27, 2025.
“This decision to move the release date was not made lightly; we know there was a lot of demand to bring Hitman on PS VR2, and we were excited to see the great reception following the announcement,” IO Interactive global marketing director Jonathan Lacaille said in a PlayStation Blog post.
“As such, our priority will always remain to deliver an amazing experience that meets the high standards our players expect. The additional time will not only allow our team to polish the game, ensuring that every aspect is refined, immersive, and seamless, but also to add a few extras that we really wanted to include in this PS VR2 version, such as active reloading.”
Supporting the full main campaign of Hitman World of Assassination, the PS VR2 version of the game was announced in September.
“Now supporting dual-wielding, a wide array of actions and interactions have been added, including the possibility of performing actions with both controllers at the same time, active reloading, on-body weapon holstering, aiming through the sniper’s scope, and manual interactions to take disguises,” according to IO.
“Enhancements have been added to improve the core VR experience, such as room-scale implementation, spatial interactions to touch, grab, and position, integration of the PlayStation VR2 controllers’ adaptative triggers, and many more.”
Upcoming PS VR2 games include Trombone Champ: Unflattened (November 26), Masters of Light (December 18) and Alien: Rogue Incursion (December 19).
It was recently announced that IO Interactive has established a third-party publishing division, IOI Partners, and that it has signed MindsEye, the “first AAA premium game” from Build A Rocket Boy, the studio founded by former GTA producer Leslie Benzies.
