Black Ops 6 is adding Infected mode and Nuketown this week

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will receive a new multiplayer game mode and a fresh map this week.

“Launch was only the beginning,” developer Treyarch wrote in an X post on Monday. “Tomorrow, the Infected are coming to play. Nuketown joins the party on Friday.”

Multiplayer party mode Infected sees players attempting to survive against player-controlled zombies who are trying to convert all remaining humans.

Nuketown is a small-sized multiplayer map which debuted in 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops. Inspired by US nuclear test sites constructed in the 1950s, a different version of the map has appeared in every Black Ops game to date.

Black Ops 6 launched on Friday with 11 standard multiplayer modes, four alternate modes in which Scorestreaks are disabled, and Hardcore mode variant, which gives players less health, and features a limited HUD and friendly fire.

Activision said prior to release that players should expect more modes to be made available on a regular basis post-launch.

The first Black Ops 6 update was released over the weekend. Among other features, XP and weapon XP rates were increased in the multiplayer modes Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy and Gunfight.

“Our team is closely monitoring XP rates for all modes to ensure players are progressing as expected wherever they play,” Activision said.
