In the fires of Mount Prime Big Deal Days, Amazon has forged a master discount for the Magic: The Gathering – The Lord of The Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth Set Booster Box, dropping the price down to just $155. When it first launched last year, this box set originally retailed at $230, so your patience has paid off. This deal has already sold out once, so you’ll want to snag a box before Amazon runs out again. Magic: The Gathering TCG – Lord of the Rings Card Deals
Tales Of Middle-earth launched as the first full expansion under Magic’s Universes Beyond label, and this line features unique game mechanics and stunning art. Inside, you’ll find 30 packs of cards, and every set includes at least one shining traditional foil card, one art card, and one rare-class card or higher. As you’d imagine, these are beautifully illustrated, and even if you don’t plan to play, it’s nice to have some pocket-sized pieces of fine art on display.
While it’s not as sought-after, Amazon has also discounted the Draft Booster box from $168 to $155. Draft Boosters are designed for drafting a deck and play with friends, essentially a quick mix of cards so that everyone can play on (theoretically) even footing. This set includes 36 Tales of Middle-earth Draft Boosters, with 15 MTG cards in each pack and one traditional foil borderless Realms & Relics box topper card.
Another great way to get started playing is with a ready-made starter deck. Right now, you can get a Lord of the Rings MTG deck for $22.80 (normally $36) and dive into a few games. This set is designed to be customized as you get more familiar with Tales of Middle-earth, but it’s a fun way to learn the ropes as it contains premade decks for two players. Once you brush up on the rules, you’ll be good to go, and you can marvel at some of the elegantly illustrated cards in this deck as well.
Related to that compact art gallery, you can also pick up a special-edition scene box that is focused purely on the amazing artwork found on the Tales of Middle-earth cards. Each of the four box sets depict an epic scene from the Lord of the Rings books illustrated across six borderless art cards, and these can even be displayed with the paper easel that comes in each box.
