Let’s Build a Zoo studio announces MMORPG dev sim Let’s Build a Dungeon

Springloaded, the developer behind Let’s Build a Zoo, has revealed its next project, Let’s Build a Dungeon.

The game is a “multi-layered management sim” in which players not only run a development studio, but also manage the creation of an MMORPG.

Players initially recruit and manage development staff, including artists, programmers and planners, to create new assets and game mechanics.

Development schedules, ad campaigns and press relationships have to be managed, and decisions have to be made regarding game delays and sacrificing the original vision for fan requests.

Players can also actually develop the games themselves, creating quests, towns, monsters and dungeons in an attempt to attract more ‘players’. They can then jump into the game to ban troublemakers to keep the game community positive.

As well as the management sim aspect, Let’s Build a Dungeon also includes a Creative mode, which is an open sandbox.

Here players can create their own RPGs, and are free to write their own stories, create dialogue and cutscenes, draw their own characters and adjust the gameplay mechanics.

They can then play their game, share it online or play other players’ games via a built-in game browser.
