Red Dead Redemption coming to PC after 14 years, store listing suggests

The original Red Dead Redemption is coming to PC, according to a listing on the PlayStation Network.

At the time of writing, a PlayStation Network description for Red Dead Redemption now makes reference to a PC version.

“Experience the epic western adventures that defined a generation – now on PC for the first-time ever,” the description currenty reads.

While Rockstar has yet to confirm the PC release, it appears that the description for the PC version of the game has been mistakenly attached to the PlayStation version in the PSN backend.

The Wayback Machine on archive.org also shows that when the page was last preserved in April, there was no mention of a PC version, suggesting this is a new change.

According to the description, the PC version of the game will seemingly include Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare, the game’s DLC expansion.

“Featuring the complete single-player experiences of both games, including bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition, Red Dead Redemption features all of the 2023 console version upgrades plus PC specific enhancements including support for increased resolutions and framerates, multiple displays, and other accessories, plus spatial surround sound,” it reads.

VGC has reached out to Rockstar for comment and will update this story should we receive a comment.

Red Dead Redemption was first released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 18, 2010, before hitting PS4 and Nintendo Switch in August 2023.

The title is also available on current Xbox systems, due to the availability of the Xbox 360 version on the Xbox store. Both the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X/S generations of consoles can play the 360 version via backwards compatibility.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released for PS4 and Xbox One in October 2018, before making its way to PC in November 2019.
