UNO And The NFL Join Forces For New Collectible Card Game You Can Play Very Soon

The 2024 NFL season kicks off September 5, but you can start the season early in UNO. Yes, the card game. Mattel just revealed the UNO Elite, which offers a new, collectible card game twist on UNO that lets you build a fantasy team of your favorite NFL superstars. You can preorder the UNO Elite Starter Pack for only $15 exclusively at Walmart. Draft Packs containing 56 random player cards, four of which are foil cards, are available to order for $5 each. UNO Elite releases August 27, just in time for the 2024 NFL season.

UNO Elite NFL encompasses players from all 32 teams, so you can collect cards featuring playmakers like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Travis Kelce, Davante Adams, Jalen Hurts, and more. The UNO Elite NFL Starter Pack comes with 112 classic UNO cards plus 56 random NFL player cards. Four of the player cards will be foil cards, just like in the Draft Packs.

UNO Elite NFL offers multiple ways to play, including Quick Play Mode, where you’re dealt Player Cards randomly; Draft Mode, where you and your opponents take turns picking players for your hand; and Dynasty Mode, where everyone plays with cards they’ve personally collected. The gameplay builds off traditional UNO, as you’ll only be able to activate your player cards when they match the number or color currently in play. Once activated, your player cards should make a huge impact on the game and help you get the jump on your opponents.

It’s a cool twist on UNO–and since you can expand your lineup with Draft Packs, it should make for a fun collectible card game to enjoy during halftimes throughout the NFL season. Draft Packs consist of 56 randomized cards (including four foil cards), making them larger than your average booster pack for other collectible card games.

Beyond UNO Elite, Mattel is expanding the UNO Fandom catalog by releasing custom decks for each NFL team. Expect to learn more this fall.
